Many visitors indicate trouble “navigating” our site.
We’ve started with a complete redesign of the home page for Hobbie’s House of Wizard Wear. Basically, there are fewer buttons on the navigation bar.
Please contact us if you are looking for a specific page once accessible through a button in the nav bar.
As you scroll down the home page, each product specific section now has a
descriptive paragraph, a photo/graphic identifier and a direct, product specific link to our Store/Shopping Cart.
“Where do I buy?”…One of the main issues was the inability to locate a link to Hobbie’s Store.
Another issue? We found that many visitors simply did not scroll down to see an entire page. As a result, they missed a lot of the information clearly posted on the page – including the link to the Store. Every single website page features a navigation button at the top of the navigation bar which links directly to the Wizard Wear Store but we also had a direct link to the Store within the web copy of each product specific page.
The Hobbie’s House of Wizard Wear website describes, in detail, the various items of knitwear we offer.
Back in 2003, when our inventory was rather limited, PayPal “Buy Now” buttons functioned well enough. They were placed next to the actual product description. Later, we upgraded to a full fledged, shopping cart system to accommodate an ever growing number of products.
PayPal is still the preferred payment method. However, orders are now placed through Hobbie’s Store – the equivalent of a second website – and it’s Shopping Cart, hosted on a separate server. In other words, web surfers can easily come across Hobbie’s Store and then discover the Hobbie’s House website.
We welcome any feedback to further improve navigation across both sites.
